Opening of the first factory
Production starts in September with polystyrene drip-removing profiles, ABS surface profiles for skis and polyethylene runner profiles.
1975
PPZ I
First patent application for the PPZ I process developed by Technoform. More than 120 national and international patent applications have been made to date.
1991
New organisational structure
Each of the divisions at Technoform Caprano + Brunnhofer oHG become independent companies and from now on will focus on their individual areas of competence.
1993
Founding of Technoform Kunststoffprofile GmbH
On 9 November 1993, Technoform Kunststoffprofile is registered as a limited company at the district court.
1998
New factory
Technoform Kunststoffprofile GmbH builds a new factory in Kassel-Lohfelden.
Production starts in June 1998.
1999
Rapid Prototyping
Development of a high-end extrusion process which enables samples to be produced within just 14 days for the first time.
2000
Positioning
The high-end extrusion process is developed further. It now allows the precise positioning of wire within a profile with a tolerance of up to 0.3 mm.
Production starts for insulating glass spacers.
Ingenious spacers made from a combination of plastic and metal are developed by TKP.
2002
Technoform City
Karl Hans Caprano commissions a painting by artist Sigurd Beyer. He arranges the buildings of the Technoform Group as a virtual city.
2003
10 years of independence
10 years as an independent limited company within the Technoform Group.
2004
Bi-monofilaments
Europe’s first bico-monofilament installation is developed and put into operation.
Profile for the Airbus A 380
TKP is awarded a comprehensive contract to fit out the cabin of the new Airbus A 380.
2005
Year of innovations
Paintable polyamide
Technoform recipe for reinforced polyamide permits powder-coating without pre-treatment.
Intricate and robust profiles made of PEEK
The further developed high-end extrusion process now also allows processing of the heavy-duty thermoplastic PEEK.
Electrically conductive plastics
Stainless steel fibres are added to make the plastic electrically conductive and enable a wide variety of uses such as shielding for sensitive components.
2006
Guide rails for the automotive industry
Development of roller blind profiles for sliding roofs for a range of vehicles including the Audi Q7, the Skoda Roomster, the Opel Corsa and the BMW Mini on the instruction of automotive industry supplier ArvinMeritor GmbH.

2007
Change in management
Thomas Wedekind, managing director since 1998, is to become the managing director of Technoform Glass Insulation GmbH (TGI). The new managing director will be Patrick Mueller who has been the authorised representative for TKP since 2005.

Certified family-friendly
On 19 June 2007, the Technoform Group is awarded a basic certificate as a result of a berufundfamilie® audit.
2008
Innovation Center
After a development period of one year, the Innovation Center opens and holds its first workshops. In future, a standardised process will be followed here to develop new ideas for products, technology and areas of business at TKP.
Top 100
TKP is chosen as one of the Top 100 most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany. Mentor Lothar Späth presents the seal of approval and pays tribute to the company’s systematic, well thought-out and successful innovation management.
Reorganisation of office space
One long desk for all the staff – from management to trainees – is the central idea of the new office concept. You can pick a workstation, swap places with people and get together spontaneously to work as a team. With docking stations, that is not a problem. Everyone is integrated and more aware of what is going on within the company.
