Guide rail for sunscreen

Task:
To develop a plastic rail for the rear sunscreen system in the Maybach. The requirement: a precise guide for all the moving parts with demanding requirements regarding the loadability and reliability of the system.

Solution:
Series-quality samples were produced within two weeks. The guide rail was produced in durable 25% glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 6.6 using the Technoform high-end extrusion process in order to ensure that the construction had the required strength. Besides the reduction in weight, the good slidability of the material has resulted in a significant improvement since lubricant is no longer required. Cutting to size included the burr-free milling of the rails which ensures the fast integration and smooth installation of the various functioning parts. The first series profiles were supplied within four weeks.
