Metal look locking bar

Task:
To develop a locking bar for an aluminium window system to replace the metal locking bar. The specific challenge: extreme durability in order to be able to guarantee load transmission from the window handle to the locking bolts throughout the service life of the window and an aluminium look virtually identical to the metal component in order not to affect the value of the system.

Solution:
Series-quality samples were produced within two weeks. 30% glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 66 meets the requirements regarding strength and resistance while the metallic powder-coated material creates the desired look. The Technoform high-end extrusion process allows the material to be processed with the required precision while achieving consistent quality. The first series profiles were supplied within five weeks.
